Simulation Training
Program Objectives
- Use human factor concepts and teamwork training to reduce error.
- Practice a shoulder dystocia event using a simulator.
Overview
The hands-on component of the program consists of a shoulder dystocia drill using
a pelvic mannequin simulator. The simulator is equipped with a computerized pressure
monitor that can measure the force and traction used for the delivery.
The facilitator will direct the scenarios and all aspects of the teamwork training.
The drills will be videotaped and a debriefing conducted with all participants.
