Program Information
Shoulder dystocia remains an elusive and potentially deadly obstetric event. It
is one of the most anxiety-provoking emergencies encountered by physicians practicing
obstetrical care. While it affects a statistically small group, the impact of a
shoulder dystocia birth with an adverse outcome can be physically, emotionally,
and financially devastating.
With proper training and preparation, the outcomes can be significantly improved.
Recent studies show that response time and applied delivery force were positively
impacted by shoulder dystocia education and training drills. Improving these two
factors alone can reduce the incidence of injury or fatality.
TPSF is pleased to offer a web-based training program to individuals and organizations.
Our commitment to educating and increasing positive outcomes in shoulder dystocia
cases has been generously supported by the AMERIGROUP Foundation and LMS Medical
Systems, Inc.
The education program is also available through an on-site program which can be
delivered with or without the hands-on simulation training. For more information
about on-site or simulation training, please call (517) 281-8485 or email
sdinfo@tristatepsf.org.
One CME credit is available for successful completion of the Shoulder Dystocia Online
Training Program. Click here for Accreditation details.
